The body of a girl named Clover, who died at Lambeth on October 18, has been exhumed, and strychnine found in the remains. It is seated that seven similar cases have been traced. Kio dr Janeiro, Jnne 12. It is reported tliat the insurgents in Matto Grosso, an inland province of Brazil, were victorious in an encounter with the Republican troops, a thousand of whom were killed. The victors afterwards captured anil sacked Cuijaba. Beklin, June 13. Miss Marsden has returned to Berlin from the Siberian leper settlements. She declares that the lepers there are obliged to live in forests like wild beasts.
