There was, he thought, no danger so long as Greot Britain maintains the free trade principle in commercial treaties with foreign countries. There was a general feeling among the people of Great Britain in favor of Federation of the Colonies, but he thought that question was one Australians should consider for themselves and bring about in their own way. His Excellency said that General Booth had informed him that the establishment of a "colony" in New Zealand was entirely dependent on the terms made with the shipping. Newcastle, This Day.
