New York, April 28. The Centra! Theatre and the Times olfice in Philadelphia have been burned. The fire broke out on the stage near the auditorium. For three or four minutes the audience remained orderly, and there was a quiet exodus from the stalls and pit. In the galleries, however, a panic resulted, owing to a frautic spectator clearing his way with a knife. The actors, who were dressing nt the time, jumped from tbe windows, and numbers of them had limbs broken. The shouts of the victims were heard in the Wallnutt street Theatre, and led to a panic in which many were injured. Arril 29. The first account published of the number of fatalities in connection with the Philadelphia fire were greatly exaggerated. Only ten persons, including three actresses, were killed in tlie panic.
