School Committee Elections

CHELTENHAM. The annual meeting of householders was held in the schoolhouse, Cheltenham, on Monday, April 25th. The retiring committee, viz., Messrs G. W. Stewart, W. Mills, Duckworth, Burrell, Phillips, Shirley and Law, were re-elected. At a meeting of the committee, hqld subsequently, Messrs Law and Mills were reelected chairman, and treasurer respectively. STANWAY. The following were elected on the above school committee at the meetiegof householders :— Messrs Wheeler, Wilson, HanBen, Thorby and Christian. Mr Wheeler was elected chairman.' MAKINO. The election resulted thus.— Messrs Fry (chairman and treasurer), Mortensen, Terry, Apel, Flavell and Pearson. BALCOMBE. The result of the election was the appointment of Messrs W. Bell, A. Mangham, C. Crabb, W. MeLenan, W. Fergusßon and J. Quarrie. Mr Bell was elected chairman. BUNNYTHOBPE. The undermentioned householders have been elected as the School Committee for the ensuing year : — Messrs Anderson, Hazell, Jackson, Matheson, Print and Scheldt, (chairman). AWAHUBL The following gentlemen were elected as a school committee at Awahuri: — Messrs Henry Stewart, Weigh tman, Flyger, Campbell, Lucas, senr., Lucas, iunr, and Nicholson. Mr Weightman was elected chairman of the new committee. .The funds were found to be id a satisfactory condition, there being: a balance of about £6. The roll number and average attendance showed a satisfactorily increase for the year eudmg March 31st, 1892.
