■ ■» LOWES & IOEN'S STOCK BEPORT At our sale on Wednesday last we have to report a better tone throughout for good sheep and cattle, and although the former did not rise in price, previous prices were maintained with more enquiry while cattle showed some improvement in all classes, it was specially observable in fats. We quote : — Fat wethers medium, 13s ; store wethers, 10s to 12s all 2-tooth ; lambs, 3s ; for culls, to 10s Id for best woolly ; breeding ewes, 10s to 11s 6d ; for medium old, 7s to 8s 6d ; culls, 4s 6d to 6s sd. Small factory calves, 23s ; better grown from 38s to 39s ; dairy cows up to L 4 15s ; breeding cows, 61s to 655 ; fat heifers, 80s ; cows up to L 5 108 ; 2£ year steers, up to 80s. A large number of horses were offered but few selling ; hacks from L 5 to Ll2 ; pair of roan buggy pones with harness, Lls. Porkers sold well, small pigs lower in prices.
