(PER PKESS ASSOCIATION.) London, A.pril 9. New Zealand ]on#-berried wheat is restricted in business at 40s 6d. Quotations for New Zealand frozen mutton are unchanged. New Zealand hemp is dull, and at the auctions none was sold. Mr Brodie Hoare's circular states that during the last few nightß of the wool sales the fall in prices which characterised the opening of the series has been entirely obliterated. February prices are now being realised, and there was a further advance of five per cent to-night. The apples ex Bnapehu arrived in poor condition, and many were rotten. At the wool sales there is brisk competition, and prices are firm. Sixty-one per cent of the sales has been taken by foreigners. The quantity of wool catalogued to dnte is 141,000 bales, of which 134,000 bales hare been sold. Merino has nd» vanced to -J-d to Id higher than the closing rates of the February sates, but good scoured has not yet reached that point. Crossbreds maintain their position. Foreign buyers are animated in their bidding. . There is rather better demand for New Zealand mutton, but quotations are enchanged since last telegram. The lamb market is quiet, and price has declined £d per lb since last report.
