Wanganui Education Board

(Continued from last issue). Election. — The yoting papers for the election of three members of the Board were opened, and t&6 result ot the voting declared as follows:— Roy J. Ross. 67; G. Carson, 66 ; J. IJ. Fry, 66 ; G. Wilks, 16. Messrs Ross, Carson, and Fry were accordingly declared elected. Seventy seyen Committees Voted, two were late, and two others weiJß informal. Kiwitea.— lt was agreed to pay half of £4 4s, the cost of clearing a site for this school. Feilding. — A complaint of defective ventilation. at this school was referred to the architect. Auditors.— On the motion of Mr Pry it was resolved to accept all the names of auditors sent in by School Committees, and that in such cases in which Committees had neglected to send in names of, auditors the Secretary of the Board should audit the accounts. Staffing Schools.— Messrs Bridge and Nottnan made a brief report as to the proposed changes in the staffing of schools and asked for an extension of time to consider the matter further and report fully at the next meeting. The only recommendation they were then able to make was that as soon as the attendance at a school reaches 40 a pupil teacher shall be provided.— The request wa9 acceded to. Scale of Salaries.— Mr Notman moved, " That the scheme for the scale of salaries for aid schools from 20 to 25 and school fund be adopted." — The motion was seconded by Mr Sanson and earned. — Mr Notman further moved, " That the recommendations take effect from April Ist," which was also agreed to.
