Ashurst Notes
[FROM OUR OWN COKEESPONDEKT.] Messrs C. Hunt (chairman), Sanders, Siddels, Wells, Bumble, Coruford, and the secretaiy were present at a meeting Of the Sports Committee on Monday night. The minutes of the last meeting having been read, the usual accounts were passed for payment. It was resolved that if fnnds were available after paying accounts passed, to hand i'2 los to the trustees of the Recreation Reserve to help them pay the cost of putting their ground in order for St. Patrick's day. The Recreation Trustees on their part to give the use of their ground for next season. We have had quite a number of farmers from the South Isknd up and down the Pohangina Valley in search of new homes. They seemed struck with the freshness of the grass even during a spell of hot weather. The Lasses' Band of the Salvation Army have visited Ashurst. The Dramatic Hall was crammed, and they played beautiful! 7.
