There is no quotable alteration in the local market, and prices remain at, inferior to Rood, 148 to 17s; rough fat, 12s to 138 ; prime mntten in shipping line* 20s to 235. Hides— Prices remain without alteration. Wheat— None offering at moment. Quotations nominally 4s 3d to 4s 6d per bushel. Oats— Business passing in this cereal continue? on a very small scale, We quote Is lOd to Is lid, according to quality. We do not anticipate that there * ill be much doing until samples of the Southland crops are on the market. BAHLEY—We quote feed quality at 2s to 2s 6*d, according to quality. Gbass Seeds— Both cocksfoot and rye grass are moving off freely at current rates, although the supply of the former is considerably in excess of market re quirements. North Island cocksfoot is worth 2d te 3|d per lb. Poverty Bay rye grass, 6s 3d to 6s 9d at Wellington. Hemp— At the moment this market is inactive, and very little is changing hands. The quantity, however,, on the market is extremely small, and owners, are indisposed to sell, except at late rates—viz., good f.a.g., £15 5s to £15 10s ; jßne, £16 to £16 10s.
