H. Balhnger, Petone, L4 . . 84 This Day. The weather is fine this morning, but dull, and a fresh wind is blowing across the ranc:e from the left. The Otago match, which is fifth couning for the belt, iB proceeding, and will be late in the afternoon before it is concluded. At 300 yards fair shooting was made, Reid, of Queenstown, being top with 32, while Neil, of the Peninsula, put on 31. Bunting. (Palmerston), Wilson (Wellington), and Ross (Napier) 20 each. Parnell pulled four points on Ballinger, who was leading for the belt, and the pair are on level terms with 260. Doughty improved his position a point, and is even with Jones, of IVaikari, each being 258. Spiers (Oamaru) is next with 255, and Ross (Napier), follows with 254. Several of the others are close together. Later. The firing at 500 yards finished at lunch, the shooting being very good. C. Cameron (Tenui), and Randall (Palmerston), each put on 34 out of 35, while Kruse (Wanganui), Gunderson (Christchurch), A. Cameron (Tenui), Fuller (Blenheim), Newell (Taranaki), Howe (Wellington), Donner (Auckland), wound up with 33, with two ranges finished.
