Fire Brigade Demonstration

(from our own correspondent.) Chbistchubch, This Day. The Feilding team are in splendid trim and expect a place to-morrow. The city is alive with firemen. Grand torchlight procession to-night.

A church parade was held at Christchurch on Sunday in connection with the Fire Brigade demonstration, in which about 250 firemen took part.

Mr Wm Park, bookseller, Polmerston North, has a new advertisement iu out wauted column to-day. Our first shipments of new goods for the Autumn and Winter season have now come to hand by the latest mail steamer, and we have been busily employed in opening them out and preparing them for inspection at Te Aro House, Welling, ton.
