By this route 7s 2d per man will be saved, a large amount on 90 men. The stationmaster at Palmerston will issue passes for the Woodville route, and if you will let me know what day you are leaving I will arrange for coaching. Enclosed please find order for U.S.S. Co. for passage to Lyttelton." The representatives of the Feilding Fire Brigade — Branchman Bartholomew, Firemen W. A. Collins — Kitchen, Newman, and A. Collins, left to-day en route for Christchurch. They will compete in 5 events viz., 5 men manual, 2 men manual, and 1 man manual ; ladder rescue for 2 men ; hose and ladder, for 1 man. We trust they will be able to give a good account of themselves iv their various efforts. We regret that Mr Morey, the Cap» tain of the Fire Brigade, was unable to accompany the team this morning, owing to ill-health. Mr Morey has been indiefatigable in bringing the Brigade into a state of efficiency, and it is more thau probable it is owing to the con« sequent oyer«exertion that he is at present laid up. At a meeting of the Brigade held last night, Foreman Eade was elected to proceed to Christchurch in placo of Captain Morey.
