The speaker alluded to the good work done by the Minister of Lands in the way of settlement, and touched upon several other interesting topics during the delivery, and at the conclusion of his speech Mr Reeves was warmly applauded, and a vote of thanks and confidence was moved by Mr A. Loughrey, and earned unanimously, and cheers were giyen for the Government. Nelson, February 25. C. Remnant and party, after a tramp 12 hours, reached Motueka from the River Crow, a tributray of the Karamea beyond the Baton, and showed gold they had obtained, induing a piece 9oz 7dwt. Skey, Government Analyst, stated that he had examined the articles sent to him, and found blood on the shirt only. He could not say how long it had been there, but it appeared to be recent. Both of the accused were committed for trial.
