STEYENS & NORTON'S STOCK BE PORT. Since our last report we have held arx sales; atSandon on the 2nd mat, Fox ton on the 3rd,' Palmerston on the 4th, and a clearing sale of the Hon D.J. Ormond's stock at Wbodville on the oth, * v Woodfille'on the" 6th and our annual ram fair at' Bulls on the 9th. In the earlier sales we wero mot with a sharp drop iv * prices of all classes of stock, butsraco tho rains a general improvement has been manifest, particularly in four and five years old brooding ewes of good qualify. Our annual ram fair on the 9th was well attended, 'and fdr; good sheep there was a brisk demand; Between 14,000 and 15,---000 sheep were yarded, and with the exception of two lines of two-tooth ewes, and a few old sheep we quitted the whole at' prices mostly bojond vendors expectations. The rams offered were inferior in condition and quality to previous years, but good sheep wye eagerly competed for. Tho Lincoln rams offered by Messrs Eobt. Wilson, . W; Morrison, R. B. Pearce, and Mr Gearge Wheeler's Romnev were most in demand. Wo quote as under :— Cattle. Sandon.— Fat heifers, £4 10/; fat cows, £5 1/ to £5' 4/; 3-year ' steers, £4 to £4 1/; 15 month steers, £3 2/; yearling steers, £2 ; yearling heifers, 38/.
