The Circus

The oircus of Messrs Hayes and Brillianso, which performed in the Corporation paddock last night, attracted an audience of about eight hundred, the tent being nearly filled. There were visitors from all parts of the district some of whom travelled thirty miles to see the show. They were well repaid for their trouble because, without exception, this is the best circus troupe that has visited this coast. The clowns are masters of their profession ; the boy performers are clever as tumblers, contortionists and gymnasts ; the riders are neat and expert in performing their several feats of horsemanship. The horses are trained to profection, and their performances are really wonderful, making them, in fact, the most interesting part of the show. We understand their trainer is allowed to be the best in the world. To-nisht the troupe will exhibit in Palmerston North.
