The Government has asked Lord Kuntsford, Secretary of Slate for the Colonies, that the names of possible ap« pointees to the Governorship of New Zealand should be submitted to them before the filial selection is made. Auckland, January 13. Mr Admou Chapman, of Norman's Hill, Ouehunga, committed suicide at 1.30 a.m. He got a single barrelled rifle, and attaching a strap to the trigger of the gun and to his foot, fired the weapon and blew his brains out. Ho shot himself while in a state of temporary insanity, caused by domestic troubles.
