Fine mutton is. worth 26s 9d per cwt; good beef is worth 25s 9d per?cwt. Frozen meat — Mutton market firme.r. Canterbury mutton is worth 4yd pjjr lb ; Wellington mutton is worth 3fd per lb | Beef market "has an upward tendency. New Zealand beef— Fore-quarters are worth 3sd ' per lb ; hind«quarters 'are worth 3fd per lb.
The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report on the pio» duce markets for the week ending Wed* nesday, 6th January, as follows :— . Wool— Since last writing we hare disposed of the bulk of the lots passed in at our auction of 28th ult. at satisfactory prices. We wish there were reasonable grounds for anticipating an improvement in prices in London, but whilst it is quite on the cards that better raiuerniayrule at next series there is no visible indica* tion of any upward tendency, in,sft£O|d Country.
