Feilding Cricket Club.
The Feilding Cricket Club held a special meeting in. the Feilding Hotel on Saturday, the 9th instant, Mr 0. Rogers in the chair, for the putrj>pse of electing a new secretary in place: of Mr Nicholson (who has left the district) and also to make arrangements for a match to be played against the Hawera eleven on Wednesday next (to-morrow). -.. ■-.: . It was proposed by Mr Lance, sec- - onded by Mr Whisker, and camedjww. con., That Mr George Lethbridge be appointed Honorary Secretary/ - l On the proposition of Mr Stierwill, seconded by Mr Wellsman, Messrs Lance, Rogers, and the secretary were appointed as a committee to select a district team . to meet the Hawera "reps " on their return from the East Coast, and if possible to arrange for a smoke concert after the match; each i player to pay for himself anji oii&.,ot the visitors. ; " f ; The secretary was instructed to call another meeting at an early date to*^ receive the ex-secretafcy's , ibsalancesheet, and to - arrange a series of matches with a view to giving all members an opportunity of ; playing during the season. , '. £-^
The following have been picked torepre* sent the Feilding district. in* the match against Hawera to - morrow : ~ Messrs Bayly, Brou«hton, Coote, Uritwide, Hfinter, Lance, 0. Millan, Rogers; Shannon, Tompkins, and Wellaman; emergencies, Levett, Lethbridge, and Sherwill.<Hawera will be represented by Messrs A. Bayley, G. Bailey, Coutts, D'Arey, Goodson, Heenan, G-. Marshall, S. Powell, Jtiddi. - ford, Shove, Tonka, Maaon and Caplon. The visitors will arriye in Feilding to-day and the match, which is to be played on Mr Lethbridge's ground, will commends at 10 o'clock.
