European doctors certify that the Khedive's death resulted from influenza accompauied by blood poisoning. The Egyptian doctors, -who were attending him, injected morphia to allay the pain, being ignorant of the fact that the patient's lungs were affected. The Khedive's widow and daughter are both suffering from influenza. London, January 11. The European press infer that the eagerness shown by the Sultan to recognise Prince Abbas as Khediye evinces a desire on his part to avoid being harrassed by France or Russia. The French papers betray the wildest disappointment with the turn affairs have taken, and are again clamouring for the evacuation of Egjpt by Great Britain. __^ '•"
