: ■ ■^__ "; FEILbiNG RAILWAY STATION. TO THE tefclTOß OV THE STAII/ Sib—^lt has repeatedly been tirged in your columns that increased accommodation and greater facilities for loading, unloading, and storage is an imperative necessity at the Feiiding Railway Station. With all the railway charges at a premium, it is perfectly consistent and reasonable for business men to demand a little consideration in the way of convenience at the hands of the Railway Commissioners. The quantity of wool despatched from Feiiding is immense, and yearly increases in volume. Now, sir, when we remember that a load of wool often represents three or four hundred pounds, and maybe is the sole return of the farmer for the year, is it not an injustice that, for the sake of a trifling expense, the Department should force the farmer to risk bis year's returns by providing no accommodation for unloading wool in the rain ? Some means ought to be devised so that the drays or waggons could unload under coyer of the sheds. Every yeaf dozens of clips are consigned away as damaged, caused chiefly during the process of unloading. It has been stated that the present unsatisfactory system might be remedied by making an opening in the present shed sufficient to back the drays in. At any rate combined action should be taken by those interested. They could then insist that an alteration be made, either by the way of improving the conveniences , of the t present sheds, or; by erecting additional accommodation. ' I am, &e»f .'.. , ; Joseph G. Browne.
