HORRIBLE ATROCITIES.

The China correspondent of the Standard telegraphs that (he Chinese Government is powerless to resist the agitation against foreigners, and it is likely that an appeal will be made to the Great Powers for assistance. Paris, November 29. Tho French Government claim an in* demnity for tho massacre of subjects in Mongohia by the Chinese, and insists on special measures being taken to protect the priests and Christians in that country. Hong Song, November 28. The inaction of Kussia has prevented the combined fleets mobilising in Chinese waters. The Chinese rebels have captured Chaoyong and threaten Pekin, November 20. Foreigners in Pekin are furious at the cruelties which were practised in connection with the Taku massacre. Advices received at Shanghai state that the Mancharian rebels are advancing from Fieutsin, and that in the event of defeat of the Government troops Pekin will be in a critical condition. The rebels, before capturing Chaoyong, defeated a force of 4000 regulars, leaving 700 of them dead on the field. Details of the massacre at the Taku Missions are to hand. They show that the Chiuese roasted the children alive after having mutilated them, and outraged and then killed the nuns by dashing their brains out. The hearts and tongues were torn from the priests, and their bodies afterwards burnt. The rioters have been banquetted by a prominent mandarin.
