Prices are slightly firmer, and competition is keen, especinlly in greasy sorts for exportation to America. All crossbreds are up to September rates, but other sorts show no improvement ns yeU Foreigners are buying freely". The old clip is neglected. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received from tbeir London office the following cable message dated 27th inst : — Tullow — There is a rather better demand. Fine mutton is worth 26s 3d per cwt : good beef is worth 35s 3d per c-wt. Frozen meat— Mutton market quiet. Canterbury mutton is worth 4 perlb; Wellington mutton is worth 3^d per lb. New Zealand beef — There is a rather demand. Forequarters are worth 2£d per lb ; hindquarters. 3d per lb.
