Show on Friday. He wns passing behind a shooting gallery when a bullet passrd through the shield and lodged in hii stomach just below the ribs. He was taken to the hospital when an operation was performed for the extraction of the bullet. The boy has since died. The destructive fire at Kurow on Saturday night completely destroyed the principal block of buildings in the township. At the Supreme Court this morning John Bassetfc, charged with attempting to commit suicide by hanging, pleaded guilty and said he was losing his eyesight and getting old, and did not know what he had better do, The Crown Prosecutor said the prisoner had been in the colony thirty years, and bore an unblemished character.
