« The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited), report on the produce markets for the week ending "Wednesday, 18th November, as follows : — Wool — There is nothing special to report regarding this staple. Wool is now reaching store freely for our first auction sale on the 4th prox., and should present favourable weather continue, we shall have a large catalogue to submit to buyers on that date. SlieepsMns— Quv offerings during die past week have been principally pelts, for which an active demand exists. The few lots of woolly skins coming to hand realised full market rates. We quote prime green crossbreds, 5s to 6s ; green pelts, 7d to Is ; country skins, 3^d to 6£ per Ib. Tallow and Fat — The London market is reported rather weaker, good mutton being worth 26s 9d per cwt, and good beef 25s 9d. Locally the usual demand exists, and supplies brought forward are cleared by the trade at late quotations, viz : — inferior to good tallow, 14s to 18s ; prime mutton, 20s to 235 ; rough fat, 13s per cwt, Hides — Quotations unaltered since last wrighting. Wheat— Very little whole fowl wheat offering. Quotations 3s lOd to 4s, with a firm demand. Oats — Moving off steadily at late quotations, viz : — ls 9d to Is lO.kl, according to quality. Barley — Nominally worth 2s to 2s 6d. Grass Seed — No alteration in values to chronicle. There will be no enquiry to speak of now until autumn demaud sets in.
