Flying Stakes Handicap, of 30 soys, second horse to receive 5 soys from the stakes; distance, 6 furlongs; nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 1 soy j winner of any handicap flat race after the declaration of weights to carry lOlbs penalty. 6. Local Handicap, of 15 soys; 1 mile and a distance ; open to horses owned within the following districts : The Manchester Block, Kiwitea Road Board District, and the ridings of Mount Stewart and Sandon of the Manawatu County Council and to be the bona fide property of owners 2 months prior to nomination ; nomination, 5s ; acceptance, 10s. 7. Welcome Stakes, of 15 soys, distance 4 furlongs ; catch weights ; post entry, 10s. 8. Denbigh Stakes, of 20 soys ; distance, 1 mile; welter weight for age: maiden at time of start to be allowed lOlbs ; entrance, 20s. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Manchester Handicap, Flying Stakes and Local Handicap close on Tuesday, Ist December, at 8.30 p.m. Weights declared on or about sth De» cember. Acceptances and General Entries on Satobday, 15th December, at 830 p.m. A Hack is a horse that has never won an advertised race or is nominated for any race at timo of start, or for six months previous thereto, (Hack or Hunters' Races excepted). The advertised fees must in every case accompany Nomination and acceptance. All nominations, which must enclose name, age, pedigree, and performance of horse and colors of the rider, and also acceptances to be addressed to the Secretary, Post Office, Feilding. To travel this season in the Manawatu District The pure-bred Clydesdale Entire PEIDE OF SANDON THE PRIDE of SANDON is a beautiful bay ; he stands about 16 hands high, standing on nice short legs, with nice flat bone, and hair of the finest quality. He was bred by Mr G. Hurst, of Sandon, out of his pure -bred mare Rose, by the Pride of Canterbury, by Glenroy, dam Blossom, by old Wellington, Glenroy by Prince of Wales, Rose by Lord Clyde (imp.), g. dam Blossom, by England's Hope (imp.), g.g. dam Bonney, by Samson (imp.), g-g-g. dam Gipsey, imported from Tasmania. It will thus be seen that the Pride of Sandon has some of the purest Clydesdale blood in him that has ever been im» ported to New Zealand, being such horses as the Pride of Canterburp, Glenroy, Prince of Wales, old Wellington ; on his dam's side he has such good old horses as Lord Clyde, England's Hope, and Samson, With, such blood as this m him he cannot fail to get stock o£ as good value. He was highly recommended for third place at the M. and W. C. Agricultural and Pastoral Association's Show last year. TO TRAVEL THIS SEASON IN THE RANGITIKEI & SUBEOUNDING DISTBICTS, The well-known American Trotting Stallion OAKGKOVE OAKGROVE is a blood bay with black points, 16t hands high and well proportioned throughout. He is considered by competent judges to be one of the best carriage horses ever imported to this colony. He was imported by John Kerr, Esq., M.H.R., who says he has no equal in the colony for getting hacks, hunters, or fnst and powerful light harness horses ; Oakgrove is by Irvington, dam Druidess ; Irvinsiton is by Rysdyk's Hambletonian, dam Imogene by Seeley's American Star. Oukgrove will be at Mr Charley Fitz« Herbert's, Cinder Hill, Makino, on Tuesday ; iii Feildin" and Palmorslon ou Wednesday ; Bulls on Thursday. Terms : £3 3s per season, or half guar« antce M— £2 first of January, 1892, £2 first September, 1892, or when mare proves in foal. Paddocking free for one month.
