SIR GARNET, as a three-year-old peon the Maiden Plate at the Dunedin Jockey Club Autumn Meeting, beating a big field. He carried off the Derby Stakes at the Southland Jockey Club Autumn Meeting, — beating Syivanus ; he won the Trial Stakes at the South Canterbury Jockey Club Meeting, beating Nautilus, and four others; he also won the Flying Handicap at Timarui beating a big field.
