Wanganui, This Day. Splendid weather and excellent attendance for the first, day of the Spring Meeting. About 2000 persons are present. The following are the results :— Spuing Handicap. — British Lion, 1 ; La Petite Fille, 2 ; She, 3. Time, 2min 11-sthsec. Dividend, £1 4s. First Handicap Hurdles. — Doncaster, 1 ; Waterbury, 2 ; Beggerman, 3. Lang, rider of Waterbury was caught napping on the post while winning easily. Time, 4min 11 3-saec. Dividend, £5. First Handicap Hack Hurdles. — Empire, 1 ; Jack's the Lad, 2 ; Natatorial, 3. Dividend, £2 19s. Time, 2min 27sec.
