A national subscription is being raised in New York and Chicago for the purpose of erecting a statue as a tribute to MrParnoll's memory. Fearing attack by the mob on the ar« rival of the corpse in Dublin, none of the followers of Mr Justin McCarthy attended: The United Ireland publishes an in* flarttmalory article, in which it gives the names of several politicians and others whom it declares virtuallj murdered Mr Porncll. During his visit to Ireland Mr John Dillon vras hustled by the mob, and there were loud cries of •• Murderer," October 11. Six hundred people passed through the vault containing Parnell's remains .it Willosden, and kissed the foot of the j coffin, I Mrs Parnell's wreath was inscribed, ] "My true lovp, my husband king." Posters were stuck up in Cork stir- i rounded by a mourning border, proclaiming that Mr Parnell was murdered to please the English. Public interest in Mr Parnell's death quite eclipses that displavcd about Mr W. H. Smith. Lord Spencer, speaking at Grantham, said Ireland had lost her greatest leader since O'Connell. . Mottoes are exhibited assorting that Mr Parneli was murdered, and that revenge is being prepared. A downpour o£ rain destroyed the^ mementoes piled on the coffin. A mil-" lion people were present at the arrival of the body and the grave. The proceedings were quiet. Over 30,000 viewed the body while it was lying in state in the City Hall, Dublin. The box, which had contained the coffin, was smashed at the railway sta« tion by a large crowd of people who were anxious to secure some memento of the deceased. All the members of Parliament who supported Mr Parnell were in the cor« tegp, which numbered 200,000, and extended for four miles. Many bands took part in the funeral, but no priests followed. The service at the grave was finished in the dark. It is stated that the widow will shortly proceed to Germany. Latek. Outside of Dublin little attention was paid to Parnell's funeral. The English press comment on the absence of McCarthyites. It is now said under one hundred ' thousand were present at the funeral. St. Pjgteiisbtjbg, October 12. The Eussian pres3 attach the highest importance to Mr Parnfcll's death, believing that it nieana the early triumph of Gladstone.
