Cheese sold from 30s te 45s per cwi. One thousand five hundred mats of Fiji sugar said at 10s 9d to 12s 3d. At the wool sales prices are steady with an occasional slight advance. German d emands have improved. October 4. The quantity of wool catalogued up to date is 309,000 bales, of which 258,400 iiaro beea sold. New York, October 5. A million bushels of wheat in the Dakota and Minnesota have been damaged by frost. Murray Roberts and Co- were yester* day in xeceipt of the following cable message from their London friends, Messrs Sanderson, Murray, and Co., regarding the London wool sales under date 2nd October : — ' There is a better spirit in the market, and larger attendance of buyers; prices unaltered. The New Zealand L"an and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received I lie following cable messnge from their London office, dated 2nd October :- Tallow. — Market has an upward tendency. Fine mutton tallow is worth 27* 3d ]>er ewfc ■ good beef laliow is worth US* 3d per cwt. Frozen meat — Mutton, market unchanged ; beef, market dull.
