The-monfchly meeting of this Board was held in the Board's office, Feilding, on ■Saturday, the 3rd iustant. Present- - -Messrs Lefch bridge (chairman), Wheeler, Pnrkiss, Pearce, and Downes. From Pahiatua County Council, cornre maintenance of Gorge road =and bridge. ■_. -Notice of motion for this meeting : — 'That on and after October 31st the clerk be'instructed to suefor all outstandmgr ates. From J. James, Ashurst, re change of on rate roll. Petition re formation and gravelling of Durham street, Ashurst, signed by Thomas JEtimmer and 21; others. From Property Tax Department, Wellington, notifying that a voucher had been sent to the Treasury Office for the payment of £79 17s lid, balance of subsidy due to the Board. Proposed by Mr Lethbridge, seconded WMr Pearce, That Messrs Bailey Bros, -and Mr "Holland be informed that they inusfc remoye unused tram crossings on jroads.^-Carried. Proposed by Mr Purkiss, seconded by -Mr Wheeler, That the name ot Hans ilartinsen be placed on the rate roll for •section 35' B instead of A. C. Jensen ; that •of J. -Hollis for section 76, Ashurst, inf d : of' J; James;- That of J. Whiskey "for section 137 sub. north, instead of W. .Managh;— Carried. Notice of motion — Proposed by Mr "Wheeler, seconded by Mr Purkiss, That ■on and after October 31st, the Clerk be ' instrncte'd.tb sue for all outstanding rates. - Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconded by Mr Dowries, Thai the Clerk acknowledge receipt of Mr Little's letter, and inform Mm that the burning referred to is in the hands of the contractors. Also, that ■ the contractors be allowed to postpone -completion of contract till end |of March if such will assist, them.— Carried. Mr C. Parsons waited on the Board in reference to forming a track of 20 chains j in the Waituna road to enable him to get stock in to his section. He would complete the work for £4 subject to the Engineer's approval. Proposed by Mr Downes, seconded by Mr Pearce, That the Board accept Mr Parson's offer to clear track on Waituna road for the sum of M, subject to the approval of the Engineer. — Carried. Proposed by Mr Wheeler, seconded by Mr Pnrkiss, That the footpath now in course of construction at Ashurst be continued past sections 313 and 314. Also, that footpath for section 315, Masonic Hall, be constructed on the same terms as the last agreement. — Carried. The question of the Gorge bridge and road was brought up for discussion, and in order to have the matter definitely settled it was agreed that the Chairman write to the Fitzherbert" Road Board and the Pahiatua Counfiy Council to arrange for a conference of the thvee local bodies. Proposed by Mr Lethbridge, seconded by. -Mr Wheeler, That Messrs Downes, Purktss, Lethbridge, Reeves, and Pearce be the members to sign cheques with Mr Mr -Wheeler, the treasurer.— Carried, '"Proposed by Mi- Lethbridge, seconded bY Mr Purkiss, That this Board do decline -tb fell, bush asked for by Mr Akers.-^-Car- ; The i monthly accounts were passed for S^aryiiient and the meeting adjourned.
