[from oxjb own correspondent.] There has been splendid weather here 1 ' for the last month until last Friday when we had some heavy rain in the afternoon and at mght with snow. On Saturdaymorning there was two inches of it on the 1 ground, but is was gone by dinner tiinejOn Saturday and Sunday nights we had very severe frosts, which will be bad for some of the settler's gardens, which were-' beginning to look very well/ The fruit trees are looking splendid and just comme into bloom. . * I believe our Member, Mr Macarthur,. is going to try and get our Oemetery Be- ' serve transferee! from the Government to a Trust composed of the following settlers, viz., Messrs Gault, Miller, Mackenzie, I Oummeifield, Osb^rne, Potts, Reid, Nix ~ 1 and Webb so that they can get it cleared and fenced as in case of a death taking place there is no fit place to bury them, at present. I think it would be as well if theßev. Mr Birks was to look up some ass'sK ants, as owing to some misunderstancSp}) there has been a congregation assembled twice, since they started to hold' divine service, and no minister has turned up, which has caused some grumbling. Mr L. Holden was in last week mustering and took out some splendid fat cattle. I see by the Star that our mail carrier was unable to get in with the mail on Thursday. It does not take a great deal ' to frighten him, the river was a -foot . lower at dinner time on Thursday than it was on Wednesday, and people crossed eyery day. On Friday it was down, but - we did not get the mail until Saturday , afternoon, and then by the packer.
