London, September 16. At the wool sales good greasy wool isfirm. Medium and inferior sorts are from 7£ to 10 per -cent, below the June prices. Home buyers are purchasing extensively, while French are moderated and Germans inactive. September IS. Potatoes, by the Araway, hare arrived in fair condition and. are expected to- - realise 50s. Sydney, September 18. Butter. — Dairy>made has declined to-. lOd per lb, and factory made to Is. Melbourne, September 18. Large buyers are cornering the wheat market, and haye bought up nearly all the available stocks. Wheat is now quoted at 6s, and is expected to go even, higher.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received, the following cable message from their London office, dated 15th instant :— Wool — Since close of last sales superior greasy merino and fine greasy crossbred are par at £d per lb lower. Greaßyfvand washed medium and inferior merino anil fine scoured crossbred are Id peri lb \ lower. Medium,- and inferior scoured'v merinos have declined £d to l£d per lb since close of last salesv Medium and in-^ ferior and coarse scoiwed crossbred Have; ' ; declined £d per lb. Greasy merinos lambs ■ and medium and inferior and greasy crbss-v "- bred lambs are £d to lti per lb lower. There is much irregularity in the bidding,, and wools of a faulty character are neglected. The Home demand is good, but the German demand is poor. There is moderate competition on French account- \ The total quantity catalogued to daie is 87,000 bales, and the total withdrawn 11,000 bales. *.
