Feilding Jockey Club

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Feilding Jockey Club was held last night at Mrs Oliver's Empire Hotel. Thirty members were present. Mr W. G. Haybittle presided. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The ordinary reyenue was as follows : — Receipts.

The following officers were then elected .—President, F. Y. Lethbridge ; Vice-President, D. H. Macarthur ; Judge, D. Downes; Treasurer, E. J. Allen; Clerk of the Scales, W. G. Haybittle; Handxcapper, J. E. Henry ; Starter, B. Drury ; Timekeeper, 3. J. Galway. Messrs G-orton and Ward wer4 appointed scrutineers. |£ The Chairman said that as Mr Sandilands did not intend to offer himself again for election as secretary, it would be necessary tor the meeting to appoint a successor. Messrs Goodbehere and Sherwill were then proposed, and the ballot was in favor of Mr E. Goodbehere, who was therefore declared duly elected. Resolved, That the salary of the Secretary be £21 per annum., The following gentlemen were electedstcwards: — Messrs H. L. Sherwill, Walter Bailey, J. Saunders, J. C. Morey, W. A. Sandilands, J. Saxon, W. G. Haybittle; and as coratnitteemen to act with the above, Messrs Holden, Donnelly, Wilson and Ward. ,„,,.., Mr W. Bellve was elected Clerk of the the Course. _ Mr Goodbehere proposed, and Mr Ward seconded, That the club hold a race meeting on November 9, instead of on the day after Boxing Day. _ After the question had been discussed, the resolution was put and lost. The usual vote of thanks to the chair closed the proceedings.
