Auckland, August 31. Mrs Hill wife of George Hill, farmer, Takapuna, attempted suicide this morning by cutting her throat, a d stabbing her* self in the arm. She is an elderly woman, and has been suffering from insomnia through personal affliction and domestic troubles. She lies in a precarious condition. Wellington, This Day. At the R.M. Court, Mrs Harding was fined £25 and costs, or a month's imprisonment for sly grog selling at the Temperance Refreshment Rooms. Notice of appeal was given.
