Masonic
The dedication and consecration of the Otangaki Masonic Lodge, N.Z.C., took Eplace at Ashurst on Thursday last. The ceremony was performed by Past-Master Bro. Williams, Grand Superintendent for the Wellington district, in a very able and iinpreboive manner. He was assisted by P.M. Bro. Lindsay (acting-Grand -Chaplain), P.M. Bro. W. H. Smith, (Director of Ceremonies)," W.Mr Bro. Rutherford (acting- ' Grand Secretary), Bro. T.W.K. Foster {acted as Secretary). Duriug the ceremony of dedication anl cousecratio 1 , the following brothers occupied ibe several ' -chairs :—Br t *. P.M. Williams, W.M; Bro. H. N. Tippler, S.W; Bro. P.M. Pleasants. I.W ; P.M. Bro. Walkehy (Grand Ste-wrd) S.D. ; P.M. Bro. Bray, .J.D. I T.W.K. Foker, Secretary ; Bro. Walter Bailey, W.M. of the Feilding Lodge, LG. ; Bro. Drew, Organist. After the ceremony of consecration a Board of * Installed Masters was held, and Bro. Thomas Dyer Brown was installed aa W.M. The lodge being again opened 3ro. Walter Bdiley, W.M. Feilding Lodge, invested the following officers : Bro. Buckler, S.W. ; Bro. R. Lyon, J.Wa, Bro. T. Patterson, S.D. ; Bro.L.P. JBlixt, LG. The other officers will be invested at a future meeting of the Lodge. The address to the W.M. was given by P.M.' Bro. W.H. Smith. The address to the wardens, officers, and brethren, was given by Bro. H. J. "Williams, -Grand Superintendent. Tbis concluded tbe ceremony. Afterwards five candidates were ballotted for aud admitted mto the mysteues and privileges -of the entered apprentice degree.
