Wallarah, which left London July 9th, on her maiden voyage to Sydney, has been totally wrecked at Dassen Island, near the Cape of Good Hope. The passengers and crew were saved, and have arrived at Capetown. She had on board between 4000 and 5000 tons of general cargo for Sydney and Melbourne. Mr Parnell had a splendid reception at Thurles, where he made a speeoh in reply to Messrs Dillon and O'Brien, whose views he denounced as below criticism and beneath contempt. Mr Parnell had an immense oyation on his visit to Dublin. Houses were illumed and the streets crowded. He professed himself undismayed by the secession of Messrs Dillon and O'Brien. The team of Victorian riflemen have secured several prizes at the military tournament at Uxbridge. The severe weather is enhancing the value of mutton and of wool clip. Wheat has also risen 6d per quarter. Heavy storms, accompanied by thun der, have been prevalent for several days all over Engiand. Deaths by lightning have occured in more than one instance, and the crops have suffered some injury. Eio de Janiero, August 5. The steamer Tongariro arrived heretoday from New Zealand, with passengers all well and her cargo of frozen meat in splendid condition. Sofia, August 4. It is stated that Bulgaria has ordered Krupp cannon to the value of £200,000. Madrid, August 4. A number of armed men attacked the barracks at Barcelona, desiring to seize the arms in order to start a revolt. They were repulsed by the garrison and the leaders arrested. It is believed the outbreak at Barcelona was the work of an unscrupulous speculator, who was attempting to cause a fall on the Bourse, Wasb itfGTON, August 4. It is now stated the murder by Italians in Western Virginia arose out of the fact that a Brumfield settlor, who is alleged , to have been murdered, shot an Italian for stealing wheat. The Sheriff's party, who went in pursuit of the assassins, is reported to have killed eight of them. Sr. PrrGe»3U«?G, August 4. Russia is continuing her warlike preparations. Two new cavalry regiments have been formed. Vienna, August 4. A brigand, who is credited with 20 murders, has been arrested at Agram, in L Croatia. Berlin, August 5. A disastrous fire which broke out in Rathenow, a town of Bardenburg, situated on the Hayel, 42 miles west of Berlin, destroyed the entire supplies of the 1 Third Army Corps. The loss is estimated ' at a million and a half marks.
