Another non commissioned officer is on his way out from Home, Ministers consider it necessary to get men occasionally from England who are well posted in the intricacies of the use of machine guns and other modern weapons. The Senior Cup football match between Palmerston and Feiiding will be played at the former place on Saturday, A | great deal of interest is being taken in this match as it is the last chance the local men have of winning the Cup, the former match with Palmerston being against them, and nothing but a win will save the local team from losing the Cup, that is supposing Palmerston defeats Marton on the 22nd August, which in all probablity they will do. We will expect the local men to uphold their reputation on this occasion, and would remind them that " Victory's sure if they're of a mind, with pluch and skill combined." If the weather is favourable a large number of lovers of football will journey to Palmerston for the purpose of witnessing the game.
