f PER UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) Danevibkb, July 20. A shocking accident occurred here yesterday. A man named Smith, bush contractor at the Timber Company's Tahoraite milk was out shooting with his two sons. They were coming home to dinner about 1 o'clock, when the father said «• We must get another bird." The youngest boy, Frederick Charles, rushed by, saying " I see a pigeon." Immediately the. gun went off. and the charge entered the head of the boy (who was 11 years old; just behind the ear. killing him instantly. The lad was only a few fpet. distant ot the time. An inquest was held this afternoon on the body of Prede* rick Charles Smith, shot at Tahoraite yesterday. The verdict was accidental death. Dunedin, July 2 !i - Captain Donald Sinclair, hotelkeeper at iVlosgiel, died yery suddenly on Saturn day. Thomas Ff owe, aged 72 years, wns killed on Saturday evening by a small fall of coal whilr he vvas working in John Jones' coalpit at Coal Creek.
