South Australian wheat is at 42s 6d ; Victorian, 42a. The American visible supply is 18,100,000 bushels. No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, 475. s July 18. The English wheat market is lifeless ; the Continental sbows a general decline ; while the American is declining contin ously. The N"ew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) have received the following cable message from their London offise, dated 17lh instant: — Frozen Meat. —Mutton market has a downward tendency. Beef market quo* lation.s unchanged since last telegram. Tallow. — Market firmer; has advanced 6d per cwt since last report. &ew Zealand Hemp. — Has risen 10s per ton. There is more enquiry.
