Carl Hartz Company

* Last night the Carl Hartz company played in the Assembly Rooms to a yery poor a-iidience, which was perhaps due to the fact' that they did not appear, as announced, "on a previous occasion. The programme consisted of sleight-of-hand tricks, impersonation, ventriloquism and aongs.- The tricks were performed by Mr Hartz and were very clever. Mr Foley impersonated %everal" characters and acted them to the life, the different representation's being really 'good created much amusement. •' Home Sweet Home "on tottles^ with piano accompaniment, and a " performance on the Fairy Harp by M.r Foley were well rendered, .tins former being enxsored, this gentleman also performed on a small sisrad violin in different positions". Mr Clifford played the ac, compamments on the piano, as well as the overtures, with taste and skill. At the close 6t the performance Mr Hartz said tbat as the attendance was' so small they were not able to give any presents, but stated he would" give a "donation to the school prize fund out of his own pocket. He.also stated that the company would play in Feilding again on Saturday night, when he. Hoped there would be a better attendance, 1 and if so be would give presents on that occasion. l
