The Junior Cup match between Awahuri and Feilding 11, played on the Oval on Saturday afternoon, resulted in a drawn game, neither side scoring, after one of the tamest games ever played at Feilding. Awahuri had rather the best of the first spell and Feilding had slightly the advantage in .the second, but on the whole the game was very evenly contested. The Awahuri men showed the better form and played with more combination than their opponents. The hard kicking of the ' Feilding forwards was, no doubt, one reason why they did not score, but on the whole the play of the local men was disappointing. The first round between Bulls and Palmerston II for the Junior Cup was played at Palmerston on Saturday last, and after an exciting game resulted in a win for the former "by 3 points ' (3 tries) . to 2. The game was very 'fast all through. Bulls played a splendid game, the following up of the forwards and the passing of the 1 backs being very good. . ' The Excelsiors beat the Eivals on Saturday last.' The Feilding eehool boys visited Marton on Saturday last for the purpose of fulfilling an engagement with the school boys of that place, and succeeded in scoring a victory by 3' points .to 1, although they played with only eleven players. Rosoman scored a try and Walton kicked a goal from a mark obtained by Bellve, for Feilding:. This is the third victory the Feilding boys have gained this year. On Saturday last the Wanganni and Turakina Clubs tried conclusions at Wanganui, when the latter were successful by 6 points (a goal from a try and a try) to 2 (a try) after a very exciting game. Grogan, one of the Wanganui forwards, had to retire during the game owing to injuries to his back. The championship match between Wellington and Petone resulted in a win. for the former by 3 goals and 3 trieß to nil, after a one-sided game.
