The Junior Cup match between Hunterville and Palmerston was played on the Marton ground on Saturday. Pal- i merston played with only 12 men; and Hunterville had rather a weak team. The game was very even and well contested throughout, and ended in a draw, neither side scoring. Roberts, Palmer, McGuinness, Moffatt, Newth, and Roddy ■ played well for Palmerston. While for Hunteryille, Roper, Stevens (2), Simpson, Troy, and Hunt worked hard. Last night a " banner was presented to the Eed Star Football Club. The material was kindly supplied by Mr J. 0. Morey, and was worked by some young lady friends of the members. The latter are desirous of tendering their best thanks to the donors. We haye' no 'doubt the banner will be honorably borne in many a well coutested game. 1 A Junior. Cup match will be played on the Oval, on Saturday afternoon, between the Feilding seconds and Awahuri.
