« .: . The Salvation Army Anniversary has j ust be celebrated. They made a splendid start on Saturday last when. Staff Captain Robinson took command, and ordered the proceedings with skill and success. ~. He was ably assisted by Captains Ramsay and Grarburt, • and Lieutenant Blincoe: Seeing the assemblage then, it was a pleasure to look back on the six years hard fighting the" 1 . Army has had to gain its present footing, and hold upon the af » fections of the people among whom it is our good fortune to reside. , The march out on Sunday was well "attended (upwards of sixty soldiers being in the ranks) and would haye been very ' creditable even to a much larger and more populous town than Feildmg. 'In the afternoon fifteen young recruits joined. On Monday there was a grand field day, and sale of gifts, which latter wis very successful, Mr W. Trimble being the auctioneer, On Tuesday night the- Anniversary tea was held when there was present the greatest number - of people ever before gathered together in Feilding for a similar purpose. The tables were laden with all sorts of good things which soon disappeared before the vigorous attacks made upon them. Soyen converts joined ia the evemug. The proceeds of the four days amounted to £34 10s, and the corps is not one penny in debt. — Communicated.
