SYDNEY MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report, under date of May llth : — Butter. — A still further improvement has to be reported, supplies continuing to rule short, and we now quote best local factory butter at up to ls 3d, and best local dairy\at up to ls ld. The market exhibits a very firm tone, and we are inclined to think thafc still higher yalues will rule shortly. Sheepskins. — The sales have been characterised by very keen competition, and a large and satisfactory business has been passing at the following quotations : — Best full wooled, s£d to 6Jd per lb ; medium, 4d to od; broken, short and pelts, 2£d to 3Jd per lb. Hides. — The demand has slackened and prices for ordinary descriptions are somewhat easier. We quote : — Prime extra heavy, 3Jd to 3-J-d ; exceptional lots to 4£d per lb ; good heavy, 3d to B|d ; sloppy and inferior do, 2;} dto 2sd; yearlings, 2s 9d to 6s each ; medium, 2|d to 2f d ; light, 2fd to 2f d ; dry, 2d to 2| ; horsehides, 2s 6d to 6s 6d each.
