Hack Hurdles. — Roger (Jones), 1; Repression, 2 ; Hiamoe, 3. Disturbance, Melrose and Nikau also ran. Won easily. Diyidend, £7 7s. Melbourne, April 12. In the All-Aged Stakes Carbine ran without plates, and owing to the rain this caused him to slip frequently. Plates were used in Cumberland Stakes, when he easily defeated Marvel. £5000 has been offered and refused for the latter. The erstwhile New Zealand racehorse Ruapehu, who was sold some time back for a good figure to an Australian " sport," had no difficulty in appropriating the Hurdle Race, with Corrigan up, at the recent V.A.T.C. meeting. Winter Oats Handicap, of 85 soys ; one mile and a half. — Same horses as Flying, with the exception that Foxton replaces Fleta.
