The ques tion of the horse and trainer will be considered later in the day. Hurdles. — Beggerman, 1 ; Mayboi, 2 : Lonehand, 3. Won easily. Time, 3min 26 1-5 sec. Dividend, £1 17s. Hack Hurdles. — Roger (Jones), 1; Repression, 2 ; Hiamoe, 3. Disturbance, Melrose and Nikau also ran. Won easily. Diyidend, £7 7s. Melbourne, April 12. In the All-Aged Stakes Carbine ran without plates, and owing to the rain this caused him to slip frequently. Plates were used in Cumberland Stakes, when he easily defeated Marvel. £5000 has been offered and refused for the latter. The erstwhile New Zealand racehorse Ruapehu, who was sold some time back for a good figure to an Australian " sport," had no difficulty in appropriating the Hurdle Race, with Corrigan up, at the recent V.A.T.C. meeting. He started a hot favorite. Auckland, April 13 The brood mare My Idea, dam of Nelson, died yesterday. Wanganui, April 13. The following nominations were received to-night for the Wanganui Steeplechase meeting: — Flying Handicap, of 45 soys ; six furlongs — Weka, Montrose 11., Oaklands, Pyramus, St. Malo, Waltonia, Torpedo, She, Fleta, Rufus, Petroleum. Winter Oats Handicap, of 85 soys ; one mile and a half. — Same horses as Flying, with the exception that Foxton replaces Fleta. Wanganui Steeplechase, of 225 soys ; about three miles. — Cruiser, Takapau, Dangerous, Jupiter, Worth, Matchless, Whalebone, Tauraekaitai, Oceola, Jacob, Caitiff, Waterbury, Darnley, Kimberley, I val, Manine, Otaieri, Rere, lugorangi, Sir Maurice. The official notice anent the Licensing Election 13 published to-day by Mr Hili, the Returning Officer. Eutrirts for tir Wm. Trimble's auction sale on Saturday next are published to day.
