o tt is understood the Government sees its way to the following further reductions I— - Land Transfer Department. — Contingencies. £1000 ; Salaries, £1700. Of the latter reductions none are in Wellington. Department of Justice. — About £5000, most of which will be in the matter of " Contingencies." None of the salary reductions will take effect in Wellington. Government Insurance. — Changes of various kinds are expected to produce a reduction af £5000. In fche Native Department there will be reductions also, but the amount has not yet been calculated, the matter having nofc yet been discussed fully by the Cabinet. No particulars of the salary reductions are obtainable, as the Goyevnmenfc has determined to give notice to the officers before making details public.
