The Dobson-Kennedy Company

: There was a large audience assembled oh Tuesday night to witness the perform r ance of the " Colleen Bawn" by the aboye talented company. Before the performance'the Feilding Brass Band played in front of the Hall a : selection of pieces, which proved a considerable attraction. As usual the stragglers did not get seated until fifteen minutes after the advertised time for raising the curtain, much to fche annoyance of the more punctual portion of fche audience. Mr J. J. Kennedy, as Myles-na-Cappaleen, was in great form, aud whenever he appeared on the stage he was greeted with laughter and ap-; plause. His representation of the typical Irishman of that class from whichdßouoicaulfc selected the character, was simple and artistic. Mr Collet Dobson, as Kyrle Daly, was also very happy in his estimate of the character. Mr Frank Norton was cast for Hardress Cregan, and. acted the part carefully and well. This gentleman evidently devotes great care and study to his profession, and is a painstaking and clever artist. (In this connection we may state that on the previous night he acted the part of Captain Molyneux in " The Shaughraun" remarkably well, and we regret the omission of favorable comment in our report, which was an unintentional oversight, and which no one could regret more than ourselves.) Mr Cowan, who appeared as Danny Mann, was very forcible, and ably reproduced fche character drawn by the author. Mr Jermyn, as fche ruffianly Squire Corrigan, was very good, and everybody felt an emotion of gladness when Myles-na-Cop-paleen announced fchafc he was being " drawn through a horsepond." Of course Mr Sa ville was strong as Father -Tom. This gentleman in his every action gives evidence of being a good and experienced actor. Mr Henry, as Berfcie O'Moore, and Mr Balfour, as fche Corporal, had small parts, but they made the most of them. Ifc was immense fun, though, ; when fche gallant Corporal was " spilled" by the old woman. As Eily O'Connor (the Colleen Bawn), Miss Idrene Thornton was excellent, her conception of fche character being very pleasing, and her songs were very sweetly rendered. Miss Lily Hall, as Anne Chute, had in this a character better suited fco her abilities than she had as Miss Ffolliott in "The Shaughraun." and appeared to much better advantage. Mrs Jermyn, who appeared as Mrs Cregan, acted both carefully and well, her reproduction of this somewhat ungrateful part being really artistic. Miss May Vernon, as Sheelah, was good, and the way she "floored the sodger" was a credit to her. We are glad to know that this talented company propose to pay Feilding another visit.
