The Shaughraun
We again remind our play-going readers of the appearance of the Dobson-Ken-nedy Dramatic Company in the Feilding Assembly Rooms on Monday and Tuesday next, March 2nd and 3rd. The piece to be played on Monday, viz. : " The Shanghraun," is one of those romantic and ever popular. Irish dramas, with which the late world-famed Dion Boucicault made his name as a writer for the stage. Mr J. J. Kennedy, an old favorite eyerywhere - with all theatre-goers, takes the title role of" Conn," and from all accounts a better exponent of this character could . not be found. He is supported by what is acknowledged to be the strongest and " most talented company of artistes that have visited the country towns of New Zealand for many years. They haye played three nights at Falmerston this week to crowded and delighted audiences, and the local papers speak of their performances in most eulogistic terms. We have heard numbers express their intention of going to see "The Shaughraun," and quite expect to witness a crowded house on Monday night, when the second night's piece will be announced.
