St. John's Sunday School Picnic
, The St. John's Sunday School picnic 3 was held at the Parsonage on. Saturday I last, and proved 1 in every way a success; . except that owing to the inclemency of 3 the weather a great number of parents ; and their children were prevented attendj ing. The Rev. A. Hermon met the eleven o'clock train in the forenoon to receive the Halcombe Sunday School children, . who arrived in charge of Miss Clare and j Mr Arthur Bosher. They were conducted to the Sunday School where, after a hy mn . had been sung, the Bey. Mr Hermon for--1 mally welcomed the visitors on behalf of the local teachers. An adjournment was »" then made to the parsonage, where they had dinner. At two o'clock the Feilding t children assembled, when races and other i- out-door games were indulged in until , tea-time, when they were regaled with 1 an abundance of good things, to which it s is needless to say they did ample justice. , After tea they all went to the Gamden ) street crossing to see the Halcombe chilj dren oif by the train. The Feildihg children then returned to the Sunday School- , room, where prizes were given to the , most deserving. — Communicated.
