We learn from the Manawaiu! Times there is some difficulty about obtaining suitable ground near Palmerston on which to hold the proposed Volunteer Encampment at Easter. It ap- ■ pears that the Defence Department have ordered that the site must be within 600 yards of the Eailway Station a condition not easily completed within a populous and progressive town district.
